No Higher Purpose” was written by a team of professional military historians, and covers the history of the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War.  The book offers a testimonial to the experiences of the men and women who served in the Canadian Navy.  The book chronicles the rapid growth of the RCN, which expanded from a small coastal defence force to a “blue water” navy in six years.  Based upon research from Canadian, British, American and German archives, “No Higher Purpose” has been in preparation for fifteen years and includes more than 100 photographs and 18 maps.
