WO1 Edmond Holden Sumner was born on 22 Oct 1901 in Liverpool, England and served in the mercantile Marine from 1916 to 1918. he also served 3 years in the 2nd BN Scots Guards. He joined the Irish Regiment of Canada (MG) in September 1939 and served in Canada and England. Interestingly, on 12 April 1946 he was tried summarily for using a Regimental transport without authority. RSM Sumner died on 15 November 1946 while serving with the Irish regiment of Canada and is buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario. He was 45 years old. Sold with his WW2 service record which confirms medal entitlement.
