Pte Vincent Doyle was born in London, England in 1880. He attested with the 20th BN CEF on 12 Nov 1914 in Toronto. He had previously served briefly with the Mississauga Horse. He arrived in England aboard the SS Megantic 15 May 1915 and embarked for France on 14 Sept 1915.  Wounded on 11 Oct 1915 (GSW to Thigh). Awarded 5 Days Field Punishment Number 2 on 20 April 1916. Transferred to the 35th BN on 25 April 1916 and the 39th BN on 4 May 1916. He was struck off the strength of the 39th to reinforce the 20th BN on 21 July 1916. He was eventually struck off strength to return to Canada on 23 Sept 1919.
