Pte  John Joseph McAndrew was born in Liverpool England on 28 April 1897. He was living in Ottawa, Ontatio at the time of his attestation. He address was 152 Nelson Street, Ottawa, Ontario. He attested for service in Ottawa on 27 August 1916 with the 230th Forestry BN. He arrived in Egland on 6 Feb 1917. He served in HQ CFC England and did not proceed overseas to France or Flanders, He returned to Canada in March 1919 and was discharged later that year. His BWM is his only medal entitlement.
