Victory Medal (impressed 535653 Pte A. Clark C.A.M.C.)

Pte Arthur Clark was born on 19 August 1891 in Bristol England. He was living in Toronto, Ontario at the time of his enlistment. He enlisted with the Sanitary Section of the 4th Canadian Division in Toronto. He arrived in Engaland on SS Empress of Britain on 29 May 1916. On 6 June he was detailed to Canadian prisoners for the 1st Workers sanitary training course. He was sent to France on 16 August 1916.  On 11 December 1916 he was admitted to the 12th Canadian Field Ambulance for influenza and was discharged on 16 December 1916.  On 8 August 1917 he was admitted to the 11th Canadian Field Ambulance and transferred to the 6th Casualty Clearing Station on 11 August.  He was transferred to the 6th Convalescent Depot on 17 August and discharged to camp on 20 August. He was taken on strength with the 4th Canadian Sanitary Section on 6 October 1917. He returned to canada on the SS Saxonia on 17 November and was discharged on 21 January 1918.

He died on 20 March 1927. Notations with the medal indicate that his wife and mother were forwarded a memorial cross in September 1927.
