Pte Cecil Clive O'Neil was born on 22 October 1896 in Norfolk County, Ontario. He is listed as a school teacher on attestation. He enlisted in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario on 31 July 1918. He embarked on the SS Saturnia on 30 August 1918 and arrived in England on 16 September 1918. He completed training in bombing, rifle bombing, anti-gas and musketry finishing his last course on 11 November 1918. He never left England. He embarked in Glasgow on 24 June 1919 on the SS Cassandra and was demobilized on 6 July 1919 in Toronto. He was declared medically unfit on 22 May 1919 becuase of tuberculosis. 

This is his only medal entitlement. Medal is sold with his CEF service file
