Grading of British and Canadian Military Medals
Medals are designed to be worn by their recipients, and as such they invariably bear some evidence of handling or use. Please keep this in mind!
Mint = In as new condition as issued by the mint
EF = Extremely Fine - In almost unworn condition
GVF = Good Very Fine - A few surface marks and nicks
VF = Very Fine - Slight wear on the high points of the design. Surface marks from contact with other medals
NVF = Near Very Fine - Some wear and surface marks
F = Fine - Slight wear overall. Surface marks and perhaps edge knocks
VG = Very Good - Considerable wear, all basic design apparent, details worn
